TBH the steam deck sucks... it can barely run anything over the others, it's only steam and it has bugger all hardware specs... even the Legion go and rog ally pale in comparison to the OneX and Aya because they offer yes the same chip BUT it can have more ram which IS needed to run even the most newish games it'll throttle otherwise. Getting that CPU to allow for 8gb of dedicated ram is amazing when having 32gb. It also allows you to run any modern game AND it allows for headroom and more support with an external GPU. 16gb of ram is dated today's minimum for any modern high tasking game is 24gb imo because windows loves to chew as well as the games themselves wanting more. Take the new avatar game it wants 11gb no matter what and that's not optimisation that's purely the resources it needs to even be at least playable. All the other store bought hand heads cannot do this on the measly 16gb of ram they get. If the Legion had 32gb I'd buy it but not with 16gb lol (I had a Legion it's ok buuuut no where near as good as my one x in performing tasks and games). If you want a portable set-up for a external gpu get a one x or a aya where u can plug it into a monitor and it not blue screen because of memory limit).

If it cant run it because of compatibility issues just install windows on it i installed tiny 11 on it so it doesnt use much resources and i tuned it so hard where windows just uses no more than 2 gb of ram and if you want it to run games at higher fps or at higher settings just get an oculink cable and run an egpu but i dont like this way cuz it takes out the portability out but bam i have a lenovo legion go and a steamdeck i use the steamdeck for going on long trips or if there is not gonna be a charger for a good bit but if there is i being my legion and i bring my egpu with a rx 7900xt and it runs everything like a beast

After a month with both devices, I give the edge to the Ally. Better ergonomics, driver support and AAA playability with less fuss.

Setting are pretty perfect out of the box? I’ve never bought a monitor I’ve only ever had lg c1 and c2 tv’s and they were annoying to get “calibrated”
